While they don't have the following that tarantulas have in the pet trade, other spiders occasionally catch the interest of hobbyists. Jumping spiders, trap-door spiders, black widows, and orb-weavers can be found in various parts of the country and are worth a look (though, obviously, dangerously venomous species like widows should only be kept by advanced hobbyists).
