A UK boy lost his small pet corn snake three months ago, but found it recently in his back yard; it had survived fairly well, and is twice the size it was when he lost it. (News source.)
Lafayette, Indiana, animal control is upset that a local taxidermist is keeping a three-foot alligator in the backyard. It is penned in with a pond. There are no local restrictions, so they can't do anything about it, but it sounds like they're going to be looking for a way to get rid of it. State restrictions don't kick in until the alligator gets 5-feet long. The owner is planning to move to another location where a larger habitat can be built, before it gets that big. (News source.)
